Yup. This is a book by Cormac McCarthy. This novel surely includes his characteristic flair for the macabre and depraved. But I really don’t think this is his strongest work. It is just sort of stale and flat on the page. I don’t know how else to explain it. Blood Meridian is way better in my opinion.
